Hello,
We have been informed by the South Bend data center management that all of their IP addresses are being renumbered in order to separate them from the control of our bandwidth provider.
This will make the IP’s portable to any bandwidth provider in the future and will make future expansion plans much easier to accomplish. Those plans include the purchase of a 30,000 square foot building approximately one mile from the current location and bringing in more service providers for connection redundancy. The building has already been purchased and is being converted to a state of the art facility for housing our servers. Within 6 months we expect to move the servers into this building.
The reason for this newsletter is to inform you that because of these changes, all of our current IP’s are being changed and this will affect anyone which is using external DNS for their website.
99% of our customers use our DNS service and shared IP’s and will be unaffected. If you are in fact using external dns the numbering scheme will be as follows in the example below:
Current IP 8.9.24.24
New IP 206.212.253.24

All dedicated IP’s will be changed using the same numbering method. Basically the first three dotted quad sets are being changed and the last set is the same.
If you experience any issues please email me directly at
root11@wwwroot11.net or submit a help desk ticket and they will be addressed quickly.
The changes are scheduled to take place starting at 11:00PM tomorrow night (September 4th 11:00PM EST) Starting with the lower numbered servers and moving up. Although we have already changed over one server to be sure there would be no unforeseen issues, and have had no problems. We want to do this as quickly as possible to prevent any synchronization problems with cpanel licensing and will begin at exactly 11:00 PM and work through the night tomorrow.
