Exclamation DO NOT INSTALL WordPress 2.1.1! - 03-05-2007, 02:39 PM

The Fantastico script currently has WordPress version 2.1.1 as its installation version. WordPress has revised the version to 2.1.2 as a cracker has injected vulnerabilities into 2.1.1.

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure if there was ever a danger because the Fantastico developer is saying the version packaged into Fantastico was done long before:
netenberg.com :: View topic - Wordpress Urgent Update to 2.1.2

But its better to be safe anyway. We applied some mod_security rules which should kill any hacking attempt if there is a vulnerable version on the server. If any legitimate pages are affected let me know.

I was just concerned as the Fantastico Installer is geared towards less experienced users, and I've had issues upgrading 2.1.2, so I just wanted to make sure that someone didn't install it, then promptly have to upgrade again.

Thanks for checking with the developer, Jim, that makes me feel better anyways.
