"unrouteable mail domain" error - 12-20-2006, 09:53 PM

Can anyone clue me in as to why I would get a "unrouteable mail domain" error bounceback when I try to use a PHP script to send email to addresses at a specific domain?

Might help if you showed us the message with headers.

Here you go (somewhat edited for obvious reasons):

Any help?

I would say it's a configuration problem on this end, but email generated by the PHP script seems to get through to people at domains other than edwardrose.com.

I would say it's a configuration problem on their end, but emails not generated by the PHP script seem to get through to addresses at the edwardrose.com domain just fine.

I'm stumped.

Perhaps phpmailer has a limit on the number of messages it will send out. Other than that, does your error log show anything? You could try sending a request to support to grep the mail logs for you and see if anything more meaningful is there.

You may want to put a ticket in on this - and mark it for me to check out. It looks like it is sending mail out through the old root15, and it should say something like - southbend-24.pgzn.com. That shouldn't matter as far as routing though. If you put in a ticket with the info, and exact location of the mailing script file I can look at it. Both servers can seem to route to the domain when asked through the command line, but the dns record doesn't contain an A record for the domain, and a couple of other anomalies.

You could also try setting up your own dns record for the domain on our server pointing to the place it is supposed to go and see if it routes correctly. Our server should use that before it uses the real dns record. In theory it should work, but I haven't tried it.
