upgrade my sites from php4 to php5 - 11-27-2007, 03:51 PM

Hello,

Im planing start migrate my sites from php4 to php5 this week.
I have a reseller account at sacts92 (old 10) server.
The server haves php 4.x and php 5.0.5. To run php5 scripts, they need have .php5 extension. After some tests, i realised this php version on not suitable for my needs. At least, I need php 5.2.x

So, I need a uprade of php version and a way to run php5 without change the extension name. Not sure what this requires. To upgrade php5, seems easy. But how to run php scripts with php5 instead php4?

I have submited a ticket last week about this but no asnwer until now!

Any sugestions from other PZ customers?

thanks for your help and excuse me for my bad english.

Well, have found a solution to first part of my problem.
This quide explains how to how to switch to PHP5 using .htaccess.

The second part (update php5 version) is not solved yet because no body answer to the open tickets @ support service.

Im looking a way to update the php5 myselft or install a newer version of php5 on my own sites. Maybe this sounds ridiculous but without any support from page-zone I need alternatives.

Any sugestions ?

As far as I know, unless you have a dedicated server you must simply depend on Page-zone to make the upgrade.

Open another ticket?!?! Ò¿Ó

(P.S. Thanks for posting the pointer on using htaccess to switch to Php5.)
