notification when response

I have the "send email notification of responses" checked and notice that I do NOT receive any email notifications. Doesn't this work, or am I doing something wrong? I'm logged in and my email address is listed correctly.

Thanks guys! However...I am still NOT receiving notifications. And I've double and triple checked my profile settings. They are definitely set for email notification both in the profile and the option is checked at the bottom of the posting. AND my email address is correctly listed. AND I've checked my spam filter and I am not getting the notifications lost in there either.

Any clues appreciated. Thanks,

I signed up for notification, so we'll see if it works for me. BTW, what browser and version are you using, Sheila? It may be one that doesn't do like you expect. Just an idea.

I'm using Windows XP and MSIE 6. I get notification from other message boards I use. I doubt that's the issue. But thanks for the idea. Let me know what happens with yours. My brother says his come through with notification from this Forum.

I rec'd a notification from the post by Jim on your "OT" topic.

I had logged-out, which previously I was just staying logged in, and revisiting with the cookies on and just hit 'view new posts'

It would seem one has to log out to receive email notifications, then log in and read them, and then log out to get email notifications... At least it is working for me now that I did that.

Hmmm... that could be it then. I never "log-out". In fact it took me awhile to find WHERE to log out. I just did so and we'll see if I now will get notification. <rant on> But assuming that's the deal... it seems like a pain. What's the point of being able to use cookies if you still have to log out and log back in all the time in order to get notifications?! <rant off>

I think that's the secret. I got both notifications of your posts. I'm going to turn mine back off, since I get about 200 emails a day and can check this anyway like I have in the past.

hmmm...I still didn't get notified of your post. So I'm not sure your idea fixed my problem. And I assume you know you can set it up to only recieve notification of the posts you post and/or subscribe to and not every single post on the forum.
