Has anybody got PHPlist to work?

I installed it using fantastico. It will send administrative messages (e.g., subscribe), but not messages from me. Says it can't find POP3. Something isn't correctly initialized. Any ideas?

I installed PHPLists using the AutoInstaller, and the first thing I see when I go to the admin page is this:

"Warning: The attachment repository doesn't seem writable"

Has anyone used this yet? Any ideas if this can be fixed? I would really rather not get it all configured, personalized, etc. only to find out that it doesn't work.

I know I could test it and find out, but the interface doesn't seem to be intuitive. Before I figure it out, I'd rather know if it will work.

I posted your question on the listserv of users, and got the reply that I should edit a line in the config.php file to read

define("ALLOW_ATTACHMENTS",0)

I did this and the problem you mention went away. I still can't get the program to work, however. I can register myself as a subscriber, and receive confirmation via email, but when I send out a message, nothing happens. I think this is one of those products that's worth exactly what it costs.

when I install with Fantastico I get a 500 Internal Server Error... anyone have any idea what is happening?
