Question Blog, moving files from FTP to HTTP folders - 07-06-2003, 09:59 AM

Blogger.com makes it simple to create blogs, and publish them to an FTP folder.

I'd like to make this FTP folder visible on the website, or to automatically transfer the files from the ftp folder to the correct http folder. What's the easiest way to do this?

I think you're just confused by some terminology. FTP is a protocol to transfer information to/from servers.

HTTP is a protocol to "surf the web".

There is really no such thing as a "FTP" folder vs an "HTTP" folder (actually there is such a thing as a FTP folder... but not in the sense you're thinking of).

Most web authors use FTP to place their web content on a web server.

Blogger can be set up to publish to your PZ account. You want to make sure it puts all it's pages in your "public_html" or "www" folders.

The Blogger knowledge base has lots of information on how to configure blogger to work with an external website.

I should have been more clear,
what I meant by FTP and HTTP folders was the on-site folders that are generated automatically when a new site is created.

Still not sure I understand the issue.

I've never used Blogger but from this:

http://publicmind.blogger.com/enduse...y.jsp?node=133

article it seems pretty clear that you can set blogger to publish to whatever path you want.

In this case of PZ, just set blogger to publish to "public_html/" (or whatever subfolder of public_html you want... if you don't want your blogger blog to be your main page).

You don't need to configure anything on the PZ end at all - it would all be handled in the blogger setup.
