Can't Send or Receive Email from Angel.com - 07-25-2003, 01:19 AM

I am unable to send or receive mail from Angel.com, the service we use for voicemail. This did not used to be the case, but happened some time in June. Since then, I have been trying toresolve this with Page-Zone tech support to no avail.

The people at Angel.com know what needs to be done and have made several calls to Page-Zone, but have gotten no answer.

According to Angel.com tech support, the following should be the case:

;; QUESTION SECTION:

;angel.com. IN A

;; ANSWER SECTION:

angel.com. 14400 IN A 216.180.243.202

The value is incorrectly set to 216.180.243.202, instead of 208.206.234.80

But it should really be something like

C:\>nslookup
Default Server: fwcache000.ns.uu.net
Adress: 198.6.1.10
> angel.com
Server: fwcache000.ns.uu.net
Address: 198.6.1.10

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: angel.com
Address: 208.206.234.80

Can any assist in fixing this, please?

Why is this page-zone's problem? As far as I can tell the page-zone nameservers are returning the correct answer for angel.com. What DNS is giving you (and the angel.com people) the wrong answer?

The MX record for angel.com is:
mailgate2.angel.com 199.173.152.10

The Angel folks insist that all Page-Zone need do is change a DNS setting. Here is their position:

Page-Zone's current setting is

My goal isn't to point fingers, it's to get this thing fixed. I have been attempting to do so with both parties for over three weeks now and am very understandbly frustrated.

I'll ask again, what DNS server is giving the wrong answer that you cut-n-pasted above?
