phpBB Install Problem

I tried to use cPanel to install phpBB on two different page-zone servers and both completed (it doesn't say "successfully installed" or the like, but rather shows a small empty box) but when you try to go the BB it tries to send you to the install/install.php page which no longer exists.

I haven't had a chance to look into the php code to see if there is a setting that needs to be tweeked.

to be honest with you - the easiest way to install phpbb is just download the zip from www.phpbb.com and then unzip it and upload it to your server. Once it is uploaded make sure you have a MySQL database setup for it - then follow www.yourdomain.com/forum/install.php directions and it will install it for you. After that you will most likely have to download the config file it sends you and upload that to ur webserver and then delete the install/ and conrib/ dir's and your all set to go.
It is very simple, but do not do it through Cpanel as it doesn't seem to setup right - download and install it normally.

i am trying to self-install the php board. but i am having difficulty with the part on the install page. where it says to put "Database Server Hostname / DSN", what do I put? I would greatly appreciate it. I know this may seem like a dumb question to some, but to us "in-training" (mainly me) it really is important. Thanks!

It should be:

Database Server Hostname / DSN: localhost
