    Shopping Cart

What would you suggest is the best shopping cart for beginners? Agora, Interchange or OSCommerce.

    OSCommerce [period]

    me thinks its more configurable..
from your last post/question on agora.. it might be relevant to note that oscommerce supports all modes of payment.. it has inbuild support for all major credit card transactors, paypal included.

OSCOmmerce expands its payment functionality through Modules.
The Default Installation includes Modules for

    Authorize.net
    Credit Card
    Cash on Delivery
    iPayment
    Secure via iTransact
    Check/Money Order
    NOCHEX
    PayPal
    2CheckOut
    PSiGate
    SECPay
    Worldpay Online Credit/Debit Card

If you had read my earlier reply:

    OS Commerce

I did read your earlier comment regarding pay options. Now that I have installed the OSCommerce cart, is there some that I need to do to activate the paypal option? Also, can you tell how I can hide or delete the manufacturers option that displays on OSCommerce.

    Thanks.

Need2know, logon into the admin area (yourdomain/shop/admin),
Under Modules, you will find 'Payment'
THere all the payment mode modules are listed.. you can activate and deactivate any of them..

Manufacturers are under admin -> Catalogue -> manufacturers ..
If you delete all manufactures from there, you won't have manufactures showing up.. but this is just my thought...

Under Configuration -> Product Listing -> there is option to display or hide the product manufacturer name.. try that also..

Or if you want to hard edit the php files, I think you can remove the manufactures block by uncommenting the following:

    in /includes/column_left.php

    $include_file = DIR_WS_BOXES . 'manufacturers.php'; include(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'include_once.php');

    ---

Better you can headover to http://forums.oscommerce.com for help from pros.

    Cheers!

    http://www.oscommerce.com/downloads....utions=&type=1

You can get modules for all types of payments here.. including exotic ones like Australian Bank Transfer, phone payment, Uk swift debit card... etc etc.. take yer pick!

    Need2Know, get this file
    http://www.oscdox.com/modules.php?op...eq=getit&lid=2

It covers all aspects of modifications of oscommerce..
it is indispensible if you want to modify OSC to work as you want it..

    Good Luck!

Thumbs up the cart program does look nice...

fireater: thanks for the info on OSCommerce. It does look like a very nice program. I've enjoyed following this thread, and hope to come back to it as a reference when I use a cart.
