Mailing List Won't Work

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't get a mailing list working.

From CPANEL, I go to the screen for creating a new list. It prompts "fill in name and password", I do, and I get an on-screen confirmation. So far, so good.

Then I go into the Mailman admin screens, specifically "Mass Subscriptions". I paste in a few addresses and submit the form. I get on-screen confirmation. So far, so good.

I've left all other settings to their default values. Specifically: "Send welcome messages to new subscribees? Yes". But no such messages are received.

Second problem: I send a message to the new list address, but nothing happens; no rejection, no delivery either. I know that the address was recognized, because the message does *not* end up in the mailbox designated for "Default Address Maintenance; All unrouted mail will be sent to:".

It kind of seems that everything is working except the script itself.

What else should I be doing?

It works for me.
Go to the admin page and in the far right links click the "Tend to pending moderator requests" and see if the message is waiting to be approved before being sent. As for the welcome message I dont know as it all works for me.

No, it says "There are no pending requests."

I actually thought about that. But since I did not designate any moderator, and I did not notice any other way to turn on moderation, I figured that moderation is off by default.

Any other settings which I have to edit from default in order to get the thing working?

No, it should all work from the default settings.
Maybe wipe it out and try again?
