phpbb problem - 05-09-2006, 11:11 PM

I now have my new new site up and running and want to transfer my forum from the 1st site to the second site .

I have backed up my phpbb to an 8 MB file but when I load it to the second site i get the “No file uploaded” error .

According to phpbb website

If you’ve been using phpBB for very long, you know it’s a huge hassle to do database restores if your database backup is over 2MB. You’ve probably encountered the dreaded “No file uploaded” error even though you just uploaded it! No, it’s not a bug in phpBB but the way PHP is set up on most servers. By default, most servers have a pathetic 2MB maximum upload limit

Is there an easy way to change the upload limit ?

Not that I know of. We had a thread on file upload limits a while back.
File upload filter or time out??

A workaround is to get ssh access then use comand line ftp to transfer the file. A 8mb file should only take a few seconds to transfer. Then you use mysql from the command line to restore the db.
MySQL load data from command line
