Value in re-creating a website? - 07-12-2006, 05:21 PM

Hi.

I have a site hosted by Page-Zone, http://classicaldomain.com and I hope to start another, an auxiliary site based on my existing code. I am in the process of becoming a non-profit so that I can continue to grow.

My site is a listing service for classical music in New York City. I have been approached to start an affiliated site for Long Island. This would be sponsored by a Long Island music business. They would give me the content and listings and I would code the information and continue to update the content and design frequently.

If you visit my site you will see that it is a very rudimentary site, none the less it has proven to work simply and effectively for what I need.

I am having difficulty coming up with a figure to charge for duplicating my site. I don’t know what to charge for my time in recreating the template. I haven’t a clue how much my existing work is worth?

I am not trying to make a huge amount in this relationship, but I need to know what some real world rates might be. Doing this site for Long Island will take time away from my current site and will be a significant part of the summer workload.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm not going to answer this. No one that does any web work commercially will likely give you an answer. Not that I wouldnt like to but its not legal to give you an answer. It falls under the federal guidlines of PRICE FIXING. You cant get together and discuss prices.

I would suggest that in the future if you need an answer to this type of question you phrase your Q's more like a customer wondering how much it will cost to have some work done.

As to this thread. I.m sorry but I have to close it. If you feel the need to discuss this further you can start a new thread on price fixing or PM me.
