Can not subscribe to server announcement list - 12-18-2006, 03:44 PM

I quit trying to subscribe to the root23 server announcement list (Mojo) with my Comcast email address, as I suspect that server (?) is being blocked ??

So I tried using my gmail account. I still have not even gotten the initial, required verification email using that. So now what could it be?

I subscribed to root10 and root23 mailing lists just now, from comcast and gmail addresses. Got the confirmation and follow up email after I confirmed. So the server works. It could be that your address was corrupted. The unsubscribe link seems to be custom, and I don't know of another way that you could test whether you are actually in the database.

The link to mojo mail results in this message:

I wonder if there is a better method by which critical information can be passed to customers.

I tried to subscribe to both root10 and root23 yesterday with a gmail acct. 10 worked but 23 did not. I tried again with alt email acct and same result. Just never got the confirmation email for 23.

I just tried 23 again now after seeing your post and indeed it did work for me today.

Okay, I just tried subscribing again ... no luck. I tried subscribing by first clicking on View Archives for the root23 list. On that page there is a form for subscribing to the mail list. When I use that, it does not work. That is what I have always done.

I went back and tried subscribing by using the drop down on the first page (where all servers are listed). That time it worked.

So I guess something about the form on the individual server pages is what's broken. That is always how I have tried subscribing - by viewing the archive first.

I really was able to subscribe to the root23 server announcement list yesterday, but just now I got a message for the root14 server list -- ?? -- which I have never subscribed to. I am still subscribed to the root23 list.

And I sure would like to see an actual root23 announcement, since it has been down all day.

Like wha's happenin' ... eh?

I've subscribed in the past and recently to that list and have had the same success as you. Zip nada zilch. No nothing. I just sit back and wait for shit to hit the fan. If it does I know that something was done/happened to the server I'm on.
