Cron job runs twice - 01-08-2007, 08:26 PM

I have a cron job set to run a Php script once every day at 6pm ET (on sb34).

I have scheduled it correctly (and only once):
minutes - 0
hour - 18
every day
every month
every weekday

Every time it runs, it runs twice. It sends me an email with script results and I always get two of them - one at 6pm and another a few seconds later.

I can run the script from my browser and it does not send two emails, so I assume that for whatever reason the cron job is running twice.

?

Was it running on an older server that you moved from? If so, a lot of them are still on - for how long I'm not sure.

Now that's simply too simple an explanation τΏΤ¬

... And yes, that was it. Thanks, Jim.

In my defense I must say that the cron job was not running on the old server, so I had not been getting emails for months ... until the server move. And then I started getting two, so it didn't occur to me that the old site would have spontaneously started working again.

Except that when I checked the details of the cron job on the old server, it was somehow set to:
minutes - 0
hour - 18
every day
*** January ***
every weekday

So, suddenly, in January, I started getting two a day.

I must have fat fingered that one some time ago.
