scripts: CGI-BIN or any directory?

The page that outlines the features of the plans at http://http://www.page-zone.com/2checkout.shtml says "Private CGI-BIN (run cgi scripts from any directory)." When I create a subdirectory, it automatically creates a cgi-bin within that directory.

If I have an FTP user at some other location (besides a subdirectory) in my site, can they create their own cgi-bin and execute scripts from it? Alternately, could they just put a script in any old directory and CHMOD it to be executable?

This sounds like a "give it a try" thing ... I'm curious, so when i get around to it I'll try it myself.

Yes you can create any directory and run cgi-scripts out of it (.cgi) . Or run them out of your root directory yourdomain.com/script.cgi

Perl scripts (.pl) must run out of /cgi-bin though.
