Older version ? - 02-12-2003, 03:54 PM

I just installed it - 2 days ago. But I had read another discussion about trouble with the older versions - with SQL.

During this discussion it was suggested that getting the latest download from oscommerce was the 'best bet'

So I checked out

http://forums.oscommerce.com/

and found others having trouble - unless they got the latest version - which is what I did.

The install in not that difficult - especially if you use the tips on this page:

http://guide.oscdox.com/

But I did find one 'glitch' in those instructions when it says to use phpmyadmin.php to create the SQL database. When I tried this with my Cpanel - it turned out - I needed to use manage MySQL to create the new database.

After that 'little glitch' everything was easy - once I got the absolute path info correct (one of the default the script assumed was not correct - otherwise the defaults from the script were okay.

Hope this helps.
(now If there was some Magic way to fill up the catalog - it's a slow process for someone who types slow
