well i see in the headers of the php website the version number
<meta name="Generator" content="phpWebSite v0_8_2" />
and i changed the theme to sonoma platinum (sweet)
but my buddy is having the same error on his site (one of my subs) www.futureworldonline.com - the black blocks
same version but the vanilla theme.

Mike:

I'm not seeing the black box on either site. I'm using MSIE6 with my resolution set to 1280x1024 and large system fonts if that helps.

I have a question for you. Is the site map feature an automatic php function? I just realized you may not be using Post Nuke. I'm very new to the php world. You may've seen a thread I started ahwile back on Post Nuke. We had a programmer convert an existing site from html to php using Post Nuke. I like your site map and I'm just wondering if it's something I could add in easily to my exisiting site. Since I didn't set the site up and I'm new to PHP I feel like a total beginner again even though I'm totally comfortable in html.

Our new site is at Evergreen Tandem Club.

Thanks for any insights.
Sheila

Mike:

I just was exploring the difference between PostNuke and PHPWebSite which apparently is what you used. I suspect I may've found your problem. Their website at: http://phpwebsite.appstate.edu/

says: "Due to the large load we have been experiencing from people linking to theme images on our server. We would like to remind everyone to edit their stylesheets and themes. If you modified the default 0.8.x theme and did not update your stylesheet or links. You will notice your site is blinking black box!

Please edit your stylesheet and theme to point to your website. The theme and images in question have not existed for a couple of months on our site but we still receive many hits. This only slows things down and hurts the community as a whole so please update your theme if this issue exists."

Let us know if that helps.
Sheila

Thanks for the help. Both myself and my friend updated the phpWebsite theme to correct the problem, also the new theme (sonoma-platinum for 8.2 ) looks cool too. Anyway the blocks were not flashing. They can be seen in the pic attached to my original post.

So do I understand correctly that even though the black boxes weren't flashing, updating to the new theme DID fix your problem?

Also, I'd asked you about your sitemap function. Is that just an integrated option with PHPWebSite?

The sitemap is a module of phpWebite.
And about the black boxes, you understand correctly, and yes-new theme fixed it.
