Accessing Site Statisitics - 04-17-2003, 03:33 PM

Hi there,

I'm curious if it could be possible to access webalizer and/or awstats without logging into the cpanel. I tried moving the tmp directory into the www directory, but that didn't work. Any suggestions?

after you get into the stats program you want, have you tried copying the URL and then using it as the link? (pasting into browser URL field?)

Worked for me but my password may be cached now.

Let us know.

I tried your suggestion...

It might possibly work for a single account on a single ip, but it definitely doesn't work for multiple accounts on a single ip.

Just curious if there is any other way to access site statistics without logging in. Is it possble to move webalizer to a different folder?

At the shell prompt type the following:

cd /home/username/www (replace "username" with the actual username)
ln -s ../tmp/webalizer webalizer
cd ..
chmod 755 tmp
cd tmp
chmod 755 webalizer

What this does is create a symbolic link to the webalizer stats so they can be viewed at http://www.yourdomain.com/webalizer.

You don't have to use webalizer as the name, use anything you wish by replacing the second "webalizer" on line two above and calling it from that name instead.

Yes, you have to be logged in to SSH as that user.
