new account created on old ip - 09-06-2007, 08:43 PM

I am trying to set-up a new account on WHM. The control panel is putting it on the old IP address. Any ideas how to fix this? I need to get this fixed tonight...I put a ticket in, but not sure I will get a response today.

In WHM, go down the left column to DNS FUNCTIONS-> Edit DNS Zone.

Choose that new account, to edit. The A Records for that domain can be changed (new ip address) in that next window that appears.

I was in WHM yesterday as the ip was being changed on SB-24.

Over the course of 3 hrs I saw the old the ips alternate from old to new and back. You might just let it go for now- test the site.

On SB-74 ,all my current accounts are on the new ip.
creating a new account assigns it to the old ip.

i tried to change zones, but can not get to the right location to get a site to show up correctly.

hoping they get stuff straight, I am losing my hair on this today. They reall messed me up on some things.

I know this service is rather inexpensive, but it is still frustrating when this stuff happens and you feel helpless.

It looks like South Bend is getting hit again- all servers in the Data Center are offline again (10:28 pm)

When the Data Center comes back again, try getting to your new account like this- http://SouthBend-74.pgzn.com/~usename

If it shows your directories, I wouldn't be concerned about showing the old ip- at this point. After things stabilize, it should match the others, but like I said, I saw the ip's inside WHM change from new to old and the sites did eventually come up.

But until the vandals give up with the DDOS bombs, not much work is going to get accomplished on these accounts.
